The Red Pyramid was built by Snefru (2613-2589 BC) in Dahshur.  Following the Bent Pyramid, it is thought to have been begun in the 30th year of Snefru's reign.  The white limestone covering is completely gone.&mnsp; The pyramid gets its name from the red limestone core. The Red Pyramid is the earliest example of a true pyramid.  Its sides have a constant angle of 43 degrees.  Each side is 722 feet long.  It is 343 feet high.  It is the second largest pyramid.  Amenemhet III (1842-1797 BC).
