The Ponte Vecchio or old bridge is the oldest surviving bridge in Florence. First cited in 996, rebuilt twice, rebuilt for the last time in 1345, it is lined with antique and jewelry shops. There is a bust of Benvenuto Cellini. The bridge spans the Arno River.
