A street of note, Paris' most famous avenue.  The Champs Elysees is a broad avenue in Paris with shops and restaurants and many tourists.  The Arc de Triomphe, commemorating the Battle of Austerlitz in 1805 is one of its most famous landmarks.  The pictures are from a walk from the Place de la Concorde to the Arch de Triomphe.

The Avenue des Champs Elysées was planned by the architect Jacques Hittorff in 1838.  It was the site of the 1855 World Fair.  It was also the setting for the victory parades following both world wars and the bicentennial parade in 1989.
