This is a lovely small village on a cliff 100m above the Lot River. It has long been associated with carpenters and painters. The village is on one of the pilgrimage paths to Santiago de Compestela. The church is 15th century Romanesque. There are ruins of several chateaus here. The town has maintained its walls and access is through large stone gates. The village is characterized by old houses and steep, narrow winding streets.
We just stumbled on this village. It is an excellent example of why driving around France can be such a pleasure. It is a great place for lunch.
