Although different aspects of the castle can be traced over many centuries, the château is attributed to the end of the 14th century.  The last "seigneur" of the property, the Marquis de Castel Novel and Vicomte d'Aubusson de la Feuillade, sold his holdings to Baron Jacques Léon de Jouvenel in 1844.  The chateau is currently a hotel.  Both the service and the food are excellent.  I enjoyed staying here for about a week in 2004 for my oldest daughter's first wedding.
